Tyler's camping trip/bread and jelly making

Up this morning at 5:30am to take Tyler to the store to get snacks for his 4 day camping trip with the youth. It was kind of funny because when I went to drop him off, he hung out with me for quite a while before he took his stuff out of the car. He actually gave me a big hug before I left, right in front of all the guys. I have to say that made me feel really good. Then it was back home to clean the kitchen to get ready to make homemade jelly and bread with my mother-in-law. I had Hunter and Lander grind the wheat because Heather is very allergic to the flour. She did help with stirring the jelly! She was in a drab mood all morning for some odd reason so I had her call a friend to come over and play. Finally the bread and jelly were done and we cut the fresh bread as soon as it was out of the oven and put apple jelly on it. MMMMM! it was soooo good!
Now I am checking my emails and workin on the blog site. The kids are out swimming in the pool and Heather seems to be much happier! Thank goodness!
Now it's finally time to get a shower ! wooo hooo! almost 1:00pm. Oh well I feel accomplished since I made bread, jelly, and got my laundry started.

Rain, Rain go away!

This is me at the beautiful park, all sunshiny! The last week it has been raining like crazy. It is Sunday after and a huge storm just went over us and a new one is coming. I'm going crazy! I can't go hiking cuz of the mud and swimming has been out of the question! I need sun and exercise!! I'm going to try and go hiking tomorrow, I know it will be muddy but oh well, I've had it being stuck in the house! The only reason I do like the rain is I don't have to water my garden near as much! Okay enough of my complaining. Thanks for listening, you guys are the greatest. Now let it go in one ear and out the other!
Tyler is getting ready to go to camp for four days up in the white mountains, I think he could really use a few days away as he has been working non-stop here at the house. Heather is itching to go back to gymnastics!
She has just learned how to do a back walk over and is now doing them over and over again in the living room. "Watch out boys! don't get kicked!"
Both Tyler and Heather will be going to a private school in Tucson this year. Heather is very excited since it will be her first year and Tyler I believe is ready to go back. Hunter will be home with me and I will school him. I'm hoping to get one or two more vacations in before the school year starts, but we will see.
Anyways, life is good despite the rain!

Camping July 08

Well here is our most recent vacation to the White Mountains for the 4th of July. We left on July 2nd at 1:30pm and got to Greet,AZ out 8:00pm We set up our trailer in the dark and encountered quite a few misquitoes. The kids were terribly excited but had to calm them down to get ready for bed. We arose early on account of Lander cheerfully waking us on Thursday which Arron was not to thrilled about (as I believe he would have loved to have slept in). He did put a smile on his face and we all got up to head for River Resevoir which was directly across from our campground. As soon as we walked down to the lake I spotted a garter snake and boy were the kids excited! Even Heather! They played with that snake for hours while I tried to fish and to my dismay and everyone elses we did not catch a fish! : ( We decided to go to town to go to the Western Clothing store where Arron purchased some hiking boots! Boy was he excited to find a really good pair that were his size and comfortable. After that we decided to go fish some more where once again did not catch anything. By that time it was getting dark so we headed back to camp to go eat dinner! Then it was s'mores time which Heather, Hunter and Lander were sooo excited about. Arron made a nice fire and we all roasted marshmellows and made s'mores. I myself had 2, shame on me!
July 4th - Began the same way with Lander coming in our room and giving me a big HUG! Up we go again without wanting to get up and Heather complaing cuz she wants to sleep in! So off we go getting breakfast done with and of course my shower!! Woo Hoo (I deserved a shower everyday after not having one at girls camp) Then off to the lakes we go again! Luna Lake was by far the funnest as this is where the kids caught 4 garter snakes. I decided to take pics of the kids with there snakes and just as I did Hunter got bit by his snake! The poor kid was screamin! We were all laughing and he was very upset! It scared him more then it hurt! Last year he had gotten bittin and said that it tickled! ( Go figure!) finally we decide to head up to Alpine where we had fished last year and it was much cooler there then in Greer. We had a great time there and I almost caught a fish but he got away! Arron ran into an old friend from Gilbert, Az and he visited with him for awhile. Then it was back to town for some Lunch/dinner at Sonic and back to camp to eat it cold! as Arron doesn't allow eating in the new truck! oooh! wasn't very tasty. Then we made Hemp bracelets and played games the rest of the evening till bed time. The younger ones fell asleep very quickly so Arron, Tyler and I decided to play monopoly where Arron literally spanked us both! I actually became a very poor sportsman cuz he always wins! Ughh!
July 5th- Lander actually slept in later and so did we. By this time he is starting to get exhausted and has fallen asleep on our way to the furthest lakes both days! We decided to take a look at the town of Greer and then off to the lake we go to fish some more and no luck again! Just as we get ready to leave Heather catches a fish! Finally a fish we are all soo excited! Hunter finds a huge crawdad claw and freaks out! Everything amazes him! He is also our singer and when he gets a song in his head he can't stop singing it. By this time it is getting ready to poor rain so we head back to camp and pack up to go home. Not much was said of our oldest as he had his headphones on the majority of the time and was quite somber the whole vacation! He did have fun watching Arron do the Happy Dance after he spanked us in Monopoly though!
The drive home was quite dull, but we were all happy to arrive home safe and sound!

April 2nd 2008

Well, the day started off great with a wonderful hike in the Santa Rita Mountains in the crisp morning air! I got home and am now starting this blog. I should be getting a shower but this looked like much more fun! Kids are havin fun with their beds that we made into bunk beds. Tyler is at school and that is nice as it's much more quiet around here. I'm not constently telling him to get this done and that done!
I guess I better go et ready for the day!
